TAB 2019 Vision Competition “New Habitats, New Beauties”
was related to the main curatorial topic “Beauty Matters”. The exhibition will showcase the competition entries.

This year’s competition focused on the east side of Kopli, part of Kalamaja, an urban area in the North of Tallinn. The curatorial team asked the proposals to escape the bland globalisation of standard developer architecture and find new concepts in keeping with the alternative lifestyles of Kalamaja’s inhabitants.

The mission was to explore new architectural aesthetics through the lens of new habitats, bringing to the fore two burning issues today in architecture.   A goal is to consider the shared eco-system, enhancing relationships between people, flora and fauna, and to explore the relationship between the organic and inorganic.

The TAB Vision Competition received 80 submitted projects out of which the following winners (by project codes) were chosen:
